To trust a stranger / Karen Robards.
Julie Carlson always believed in happily-ever-after, but now she suspects that her husband, Sid, is cheating on her. She used to view Sid as her knight in shining armor, the man who rescued her from poverty after she won a beauty pageant eight years ago, but lately he goes out after she's gone to bed and his Viagra is no longer being used for her. She decides to follow him into Charleston one night but crashes into the car of a six-foot-plus transvestite and then her car is stolen. The transvestite turns out to be Mac McQuarry; a private detective dressed up to entrap a cheating spouse. He helps Julie look for her car while keeping up the gay charade in an effort to win her confidence because he recognizes her as Sid's wife and has his own grudge against him: Sid got Mac fired from his job as a police officer. Mac and Julie turn to each other and turn each other on, but will they figure out what's really going on in time?
